SEO Audit Checklist: Optimise Your Website for Success
I often use a checklist to make sure I am though when working with a client. To get better rankings and more leads the following are some of the things I focus on:
1. Define Your SEO Goals
Before diving in, set clear goals:
✅ Increase sales and customer retention
✅ Expand your market presence
✅ Create content that gets the client interested
2. Can You Be Found Online?
Run a simple test:
🔍 Search your domain on Google
🌐 Check if your website loads correctly
Try these variations:
-
http://yourdomain.com
-
https://yourdomain.com
-
http://www.yourdomain.com
-
https://www.yourdomain.com
If your site isn’t showing up properly, it’s time to fix that!
3. Check Your Website Traffic
I check you ratings on Google Analytics to monitor traffic trends. Look for unusual peaks or drops—these could signal issues or opportunities. Take notes or screenshots for future reference.
4. Find & Fix Duplicate Content
Google penalises duplicated content. I use Google Search Console or Ubersuggest to find and fix duplicate pages that could weaken your rankings.
5. Fix Site Errors & Broken Links
Errors hurt SEO. I use Google Search Console to find and fix:
⚠️ 404 errors (broken links)
🔄 Redirects that need updating
🚀 Slow-loading pages
6. Optimise Your Page Titles
Your page titles should be within Google’s character limits—too long, and they get cut off! Keep them concise, clear, and keyword-rich.
I use free tools like Google Search Console and Ubersuggest to make I don’t miss anything.
